My Art Tools

These are the tools I use for comic book art and commissions or ones that I recommend. There is an affiliate link for each product, it helps me out, but doesn't cost you anything extra. Thanks, I appreciate it!

Nicpro 2.0 mm Mechanical Pencil Set, with lead

I started using these type of mechanical pencils in high school in a drafting class, then also for drawing comic books. It's great because you can get a sharp tip, but also extend the lead out as much as you want.

Staedtler Lead Pointer for 2.0 mm Lead

Mechanical Pencil Pointer/sharpener.  These are great to sharpen your mechanical pencil (not for wooden pencils).

Sharpie Peel-Off China Markers, Black 2-count

I use these for texturing after I ink something, an alternative to feathering sometimes, although I still would do feathering or rendering. I might texture a leather or spandex type of suit that is darker, or black.

Pentel Fude Brush Pen, Extra Fine

This brush is great for keeping a sharp tip, and the ink fills the brush with a squeeze of the handle. It's great if you need to travel with it, or just working at home.

Zebra Fude Brush Pens, Set of 4

Black Extra Fine, Regular, Medium and Usu-Zumi Gray Ink.

They work really well!
They have a flexible tip, and they're almost a mix between a pen and a brush. The Extra Fine inks with tiny detail, and the Regular and Medium have more thickness to them.  And the Usu-Zumi Gray is good if you want something a little lighter than black.

Sakura Pigma Micron Fineliner Pens

These are the classic go-to inking pens for many artists. Many commissions and comic books have been inked with these pens. From super-fine, to thicker, bolder lines, these will get the job done.

Copic Neutral Gray Set of 5 + Multiliner SP Pen

Gray tones are a great way to add some extra punch to an inked drawing. Get some clean gradations by using lighter, mid, and darker tones!

Copic Ciao Start 72 Color Set

This is a bigger investment, but if you want to color your drawings/commissions, this has you covered with all of the colors you need.  I've been using these for a while now, and all you need to do is buy the refills to extend the life of the markers.

Grabie Watercolor Paint Set, 50 Colors

A great range of watercolors! Portable and has you covered with many colors. Comes with brushs and water brush, and mixing trays.  I just bought it, and I'm really happy with it!

Frisket Gloss Masking Film 10-inch by 4-yard

A long sheet of frisket for masking! For watercolors, airbrush, or ink wash. Mask out areas so you can focus on certain areas without affecting other areas.

Posca Acrylic Paint Pens Set of 8

These acrylic pens are great to do remarque drawings on comic book covers, since they are opaque.
